Greenbanks Nursing Home

Greenbanks Nursing Home, offering high quality nursing and secured dementia care, is situated on the edge of Liphook Village in Hampshire, within a short walk of shops, banks and churches. A regular bus service along with the railway station offer good connections to both Portsmouth and London. The surrounding area is noted for its natural beauty and charm and provides many delightful places to visit for both visitors to the home and the residents of the home within a very short distance.

At Greenbanks we offer a range of care packages including long or short stay, respite care, convalescence care, and secured dementia care. It is our aim to provide care of the highest level and we are ever mindful of the privilege bestowed on us when you entrust your loved one into our care. A nurse call system is provided to all rooms in support of the 24 hour cover available from our team of Nurses and Carers along with the ancillary staff that work at Greenbanks. A trained Nurse is always on duty throughout the 24 hour period.

Greenbanks offers a choice of single or shared rooms with most of them having en-suite facilities, each room is furnished and has a telephone point and TV point. We actively encourage residents to bring with them any treasured items or perhaps smaller items of furniture, this helps to create a more familiar surrounding and makes the transition into the home easier. All bed linen and towels are provided within the home and we also have a housekeeper that attends to personal laundry. The lounge areas within the home are large and airy, they are comfortably furnished and are pleasant surroundings in which to sit and relax either with fellow residents or visitors. Visits by family and friends are always encouraged and are made to feel welcome by the staff team. Visitors are welcome at any reasonable time.

Meals are an important part of the day, both from a nutritional point of view and a social point of view. The dining room is attractively decorated and the residents are encouraged to sit and chat after their meals along with the staff team. The menus's are developed between the Home Manager and the Kitchen Manager and take into account the nutritional needs of the residents along with any preference and special dietary needs. Meals can of course be taken in the resident's own room if that is their preference.

Facilities available to the residents include hairdressing, chiropody, physiotheraphy, newspapers and magazines and visits to the home from the local churches of all denominations. At Greenbanks we recognise the need to care for the residents holistically and this includes the social side of their life. Staff are encouraged to get to know each resident personally and to this end we practice the "key worker" system thereby allowing the residents to feel that they belong. We also promote many activities in the home, a monthly programme is planned to cover a wide range of interests from :- Flower arranging, keep fit, craft demonstrations and entertainers. The staff supplement the programme with games of bingo (always a firm favourite) to walks into the village or by the duck pond. Activities also take place outside of the home and visits to Bird World or Garden Centres are always eagerly looked forward to. An annual Fete is planned for the summer months and has always been well supported from the local areas as well as by family and friends.
