Westbourne has been a Nursing Home for over 25 years and it is set in a quiet residential location within walking distance of Robinswood Hill in Gloucester. It has been carefully restored and extended to the highest possible standard and is set in beautiful secluded gardens.
At Westbourne the Care and Nursing staff are warm and well trained and they use their experience to provide high quality person centred care. A trained nurse is on duty 24 hours a day and they are supported by the great team of care staff. We listen to our service users however frail they are to make sure that we are meeting their varied needs.
We have 35 bedrooms, many of which look out onto the lovely gardens. Our communal areas are bright and airy with three separate living rooms and a separate dining space. Our specialist bath and showering equipment is superb and the home enjoys the benefits of being very established combined with new modern facilities.
The Westbourne Kitchen staff are well trained and enthusiastic and they work hard to offer a varied home cooked menu with a focus on nutrition. Our resident choices are key to our menu planning and we source produce locally as much as possible. We would welcome you joining us for a meal to sample it.
Our divisional therapists (activities coordinators) actively involve our residents in social activities as they choose. There are seasonal events, simple armchair exercises and games from reminiscence groups to bingo, and also hand & foot massage with aromatherapy. Trips out are also arranged as often as possible. There are strong links with local churches for regular services and Westbourne enjoys visits from local schools and childrens groups from the local community.

What our families say
"Literally cannot thank Westbourne Nursing Home enough. The amount of support shown from staff has blown me away. They made our days and nights led with dad just that little bit easier, providing food, drinks and blankets! What's more imporant is the love that was in your hearts, you all listed to us and not to mention dads own poem corner! Westbourne is a family home not just a nursing home."
"I am xxx's second son. I met several of you during my visits to Mum over recent months. I am writing to say “thank you” for the way that you cared for my Mum over the last few months of her life. I witnessed your care, patience and kindness on numerous occasions and I cannot really describe how strongly I was affected by your compassion that you all showed. I don’t think Mum could have received better care than you all showed her and this made the last months of her life as comfortable and enjoyable as they could be."

"Just a letter to say how impressed I am with the level of care you all give at Westbourne Nursing Home. Especially the care that you all gave to my mother. It was second to none. I have worked in nursing and residential homes myself, and so I know how hard it can be. My mum adored you all from the day that she came to you, until she passed away. Whenever myself or my family came to visit mum, you all were so welcoming, nothing was ever too much trouble. The staff are fantastic, so would like to say a big thank you to all of you, for making a very pleasant stay for my mum and her family, to be there whenever we wanted to."
"We wanted to send a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Westbourne, we were so uplifted by your support and rare compassion- the way you took care of us, organizing all that needed to be done and then advising us in a clear and gentle way, thank you."
