A Victorian Building, Westbourne Nursing Home is set in a quiet residential location within walking distance of Robinswood Hill. It has been carefully restored and extended to the highest possible standard and is set in beautiful secluded gardens.

The highest standards of nursing care are maintained 24 hours a day by our dedicated and professional care staffed by a qualified and experienced management team. Support also comes from residents' GPs, a visiting chiropodist, weekly hairdresser and aromatherapy. Comprehensive in house and external training programmes for our staff ensure up to date, high quality care.

We have 17 bedrooms, 8 with en-suite facilities. All are fitted with televisions and have private telephone lines if required. The rooms are bright and tastefully decorated and we encourage residents to personalise their rooms to make them feel at home. Rooms and all communal areas are linked to the modem nurse call system which can be used to summon help at any time. The attractive sitting room has French doors giving easy access to the patio and garden. Off the newly re-furbished dining room there is a conservatory overlooking the garden. There are full laundry facilities and a lift to all floors.

Meals at Westbourne are freshly prepared on the premises and quality, variety and presentation of the food are of paramount importance. Special diets and personal preferences are always catered for and the home is always pleased to help celebrate birthdays and other special events. Our annual Summer Cream Tea and Christmas party are particular favourites.

We have a diversional therapist (activities co ordinator) who actively involves our residents in social activities as they choose. There are seasonal events, simple armchair exercises and games from reminiscence groups to bingo, and also hand & foot massage with aromatherapy. Trips out are also arranged as often as possible. The hairdresser visits weekly, and there are associations with local churches for regular services. We are also delighted to maintain and grow our links with the local community.
