Dementia Care Services & Homes

All of our homes are perfectly placed to care for clients with an element of dementia and the environment is safe and secure with the highly trained staff familiar with the challenges that dementia care can bring. Westbourne Care Home is particularly focused on providing dementia care and has a secure area and additional training that allows us to meet a variety of needs. Their Manager Mel Marchant won the Dementia Lead Award for Gloucestershire in 2023 and now trains all staff at Kew Care Group homes. Cleeve Lodge also has a small secure quiet area for those Residents who benefit from a peaceful environment. They enjoy working to ensure the best quality of life is provided and that each resident is recognised as an individual and supported in their daily care and well- being needs.

Accommodation and everyday services like cleaning and laundry are all provided along with home cooked meal choices and any care you may need.

All our services are based on four elements which form the core of the standards which we set for you and for ourselves:

Your personalised room – you will bring your own things with you to your lovely room and can help us plan the layout and often decoration.
Your interests and social life – what do you enjoy doing and how can we make the routines of daily living work for you with new things to try if you want to. We look forward to welcoming your family and friends to the home at any time.
Your mealtimes – we will find out what you like and don’t and any special diets or needs that must be considered for you to have a home cooked appetising and varied menu eaten where you would like to eat, at a time to suit you.
Your care and support needs – in liaison with you, your family and your doctor we will carefully develop a personal care plan to describe how best to meet your needs.

Dementia care funding can be through the social services route or privately. Our Managers and Administrators are all happy to talk to you about funding options if you telephone the home nearest to you.
