World Mental Health Day 2023

Today is World Mental Health Day, a day that promotes mental health awareness and encourages positive change for everyone's mental well-being. The day is also an opportunity to discuss mental health, its importance, and the need to seek help if one is struggling.

The Mental Health Foundation is the leading charity in the UK that aims to drive change towards a mentally healthy society for all individuals, families, and communities. The charity believes that mental health is a universal human right, and their work focuses on those who are at the greatest risk of poor mental health.

Physical activity is essential for our mental health, and we encourage everyone to be as active as possible, even if the weather is not favourable. Our staff and residents' well-being, both physically and mentally, is of utmost importance to us, and we endeavour to create a psychologically safe environment for all.

The Mental Health Foundation also provides some tips for talking about your mental health. Firstly, it is essential to choose someone you trust to talk to, whether a friend, family member, or colleague. You should also choose a place where you feel comfortable enough to open up, perhaps somewhere private where you're less likely to be disturbed. Lastly, prepare yourself for their reaction, which might not always be what you hope for. It's important to be kind to yourself and practice self-care.
