At Manor Cottage, some of the most meaningful moments come from the simplest activities. Each week, our residents come together with Lisa to put on their chef hats and enjoy a relaxed baking session in the heart of the home.
Baking is about much more than following a recipe. It is a chance to spend time together, share stories, and enjoy familiar routines that many of our residents have loved throughout their lives. From measuring ingredients to chatting while the oven warms, these sessions create a lovely sense of togetherness and purpose.
This week’s bake was a delicious chocolate marble banana bread, which filled the home with a wonderful aroma and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Once ready, it was shared around the home so that all residents and staff could join in and enjoy the finished result.
Moments like these reflect everyday life at Manor Cottage. Warm, welcoming and centred around community, choice and enjoyment. It is these shared experiences that help make our home feel just that, a home.
