Playlist for life

Helen Skinner is an Alzheimer Scotland dementia nurse consultant who we have trained as a Playlist for Life trainer. She works within NHS Fife and has supported staff to introduce playlists in Kircaldy A&E. Using an MP3 player loaded with songs from a variety of genres, the staff were able to help calm patients with dementia and ease their distress. The strategic use of playlists had a calming effect in 96% of the cases!
