Scotch Eggs for you to make at Home

It's that time again, the residents at Westbourne Care Home been busy whipping up a storm in the kitchen and have made these delicious Scotch eggs.

Scotch Eggs

  • Boiled eggs
  • Egg
  • Sausages
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Salt & pepper
  • Sage
  • Thyme
  • Cling film
  1. Cut the sausages out of their skins and put the sausage meat in the bowl with salt, pepper, sage, and thyme.
  2. Divide the sausage mixture into equal balls and squash flat between cling film.
  3. Roll each boiled egg in flour to evenly coat then use the cling film to roll the egg in sausage meat to completely encase it.
  4. Beat 1 egg and put it on a plate then, put the flour and breadcrumbs onto separate plates.
  5. Roll encased eggs in flour, followed by egg, and then the breadcrumbs.
  6. Fry for 8-10 minutes until golden brown, drain on kitchen paper, leave to cool, and enjoy!
