Coronavirus Update: Visiting is open for families and friends with an easy testing protocol. Trips out are also happening, risk assessed on a case by case basis so get in touch for details. We are welcoming new Residents, both private and social services funded - have a look at our virtual tour.
Hydration is as vital as good nutrition to keeping healthy. This is even more relevant at the moment because it is summer and there are viruses around and we need our immune systems on top form. We try not to nag our Residents and staff to drink and we use temptation instead. A recent Hydration and Nutrition focus week at Cleeve Lodge involved trying lots of different flavoured waters and smoothies. And the hydration station or trolly at all the homes often have lovely things to encourage drinking. Ice lollies and many fruits also have a high water content so these are offered during particularly hot and sunny spells. We keep a close eye on what our Residents prefer and how much they drink and our person centred care planning in liaison with the kitchen staff ensure that hydration is maintained. What do you like to drink when it's very hot?
