3. People with dementia often face difficulty managing their finances due to their inability to understand numbers and what to do with them.
4. Dementia patients face difficulty reading basic words and may use incorrect words, leading to confusion while communicating. They might also struggle to understand others.
5. Dementia can cause confusion in recognizing familiar places, leading to difficulty in navigation. It can also make people believe that they are back in the past time of their life.
6. Dementia patients can struggle with preparing meals due to difficulty in following all the steps involved. This may result in an incomplete serving of food.
7. People tend to forget appointments sometimes, but those with dementia may forget things frequently or not remember them at all.
8. Misplacing a wallet or keys is common, but a person with dementia may not recognize the purpose of the keys.
9. People with dementia may confuse people in their memories, or combine two or more memories. Sometimes they think an old one is a memory.
10. Dementia can affect a person's ability to taste and smell, leading to a preference for sweet or salty foods and a dislike for familiar, once-favorite dishes.

Plus, our Manager, Mel Marchant, is a superstar! She won the Dementia Lead Award for Gloucestershire in 2023 and now provides training to all staff at Kew Care Group homes. Over at Cleeve Lodge, we have a small, secure, and quiet area for residents who benefit from a peaceful environment. Our team is dedicated to ensuring the best quality of life for each resident. We recognise each individual's unique needs and provide support for their daily care and well-being.
