CQC assess our homes

During lockdown our regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) have reduced physical inspections in Homes. However, they have kept in close contact to monitor how teams are coping and adapting. We had a remote assessment as part of the CQC COVID-19 Emergency Support Framework in all our homes to ensure that we continue to work to a high standard and provide outstanding care. We are exceptionally proud that all our teams met every assessment area. They have worked so incredibly hard in the past few months and it is great that CQC have recognised and acknowledged this. Each home has it's own record of the assessment - please ask if you would like to see it or have a look on our Facebook posts. Comments from the inspectors included "From a Senior Management level downwards, you continue to put people's health and well being at the centre of the services you provide" and "It was lovely to see how staff are promoting people's emotional well being especially staying in touch with family and friends".

We are particularly proud of Cleeve Lodge which was selected as only one of 300 homes to have a physical inspection of Infection Prevention and Control areas by CQC. CQC were looking for good practise to share and we had plenty to show them. The full details are at the home and on our Facebook page but the key summaries are shown below. The inspector particularly noted our good communication saying "it was evident that the communication amongst the whole home was effective in ensuring key, essential information and guidance was shared and understood".
